 Dear Hobbyists,

The solstice is only hours away and with that the conclusion of this little endeavor. It is time to have a look at the entries that you can win.

How to that, check the page „PARTICIPATE“ right there————>

The first project that shall be shown here, is my own.

More after the jump!

So, to tackle my own sculpt was somewhat difficult to begin with. The first vision I had in my mind was that of a four-armed genestealer patriach, but I discarded that quickly as it appeared to 40k, or to … existing. As if we all had seen that once to often.

So, I was stuck. The whole project was sitting on my table and stared at me for weeks, until I had a dream (some might say a nightmare) that gave me some direction to go.

Here is a quick drawing of what I remembered from that dream:

The winner will also get the drawing

Having a direction, the project escalated rather quickly. I not only started to sculpt the additional arms and the head on the cast, but I also wanted to add some miniature worshippers, that would go with the statue. The winner, so I hope, might use them as the start for a warband or a NPCs for their tabletop games. Having started to work on them, the question quickly arose, how these pieces should be presented together.

A thing I have seen a few times already and I have quite liked a lot, was the presentation of models in those glass domes. So, I settled for a diorama base, that would fit into one of these you can buy at ikea (since they are glass, I will not ship them along the models, since it will most likely break during transit).

Concluding, this project has been massively fun. One the one side, because I could do what I enjoy. Furthermore, the money raised, will hopefully do something good, where I cannot reach. But the most delightful part for me was the interaction with the other artists. Sharing ideas, concepts and constantly inspire each other was a wonderful thing to be part of and I want to that each and every single one of them to step up to the task and do their magic.

Thank you very, very much.

Finally, here are some impressions of my entry:
